Hitting the beach this summer and hitting the books are not mutually exclusive for students interested in saving money and advancing their studies.

蘑菇TV下载offers undergraduate summer sessions and graduate cohort programs through the summer months. Students can choose from day, evening, hybrid, online and immersion summer courses.

Tim Seitz, 蘑菇TV下载registrar, gives several excellent reasons why students take classes over break, among them: 

• High-achieving students take summer classes to stay on track and complete additional credits for a second major or an additional minor.
  
  
• Students who enrolled at 蘑菇TV下载with College Credit Plus or Advanced Placement classes can finish their degree requirements in less than four years — with substantial cost savings.
  
  
• Students who may be struggling can use summer classes to repeat a course to help them graduate on time or boost their GPA by using the time to focus on just one or two courses.
  
  
• 蘑菇TV下载summer session courses cost less per credit hour than courses during the regular academic year.

New faces on campus

Some of the students who attend summer sessions aren't 蘑菇TV下载students. They're students from other schools who live in the area and are home on break. According to Seitz, the process is easy: Students apply as visiting/transient students to complete summer courses and then transfer the credits back to their institutions.

Seitz said students find that taking summer classes helps them carry the momentum from the academic year through the summer. And most of the time, the cost per credit hour is lower than during the regular academic year.

Affordable — or even free

Pell-eligible Baldwin Wallace students can take advantage of STING! — The Summer Tuition Incentive Grant that allows them to take up to six credit hours of summer courses per year with no out-of-pocket costs.

Students who transferred to 蘑菇TV下载with an associate degree through the A2蘑菇TV下载program may also make progress toward their degree through STING!, regardless of their Pell status.

June 1 is the last day to submit STING! applications. Students interested in participating in the STING! program must meet certain requirements, including having filed their 2026-27 FAFSA and having registered for summer 2026 classes.
